We Are Officially Homeowners!!!!

I can't believe it has really happened!  This has been the most stressful process.  Long story, but 7 weeks after we made an offer (and it was accepted by the seller's) and pictured ourselves living in this house, we found out it was a short-sale.  We never would have even looked at a house that was a short-sale because we've heard of what a nightmare it can be.  Well, we just lived through it.  The closing date changed a couple times, many days uncertain we were even going to get the house (seller's mortgage company is who makes all the decisions).......it was a roller coaster of emotions.  Since we are planners, it didn't mesh well with us, waiting, not being able to get answers, waiting some more.

But, here we are, all done with that part.  Now we are in full motion cleaning (this place was disgustingly dirty - the pictures don't show it but we are talking grim, cat hair, caked on the floors.......YUCK!  And tearing up carpet, installing tile, painting.  It has been a whirlwind.  We are so grateful for the help we've had so far.  Next up is installing carpet (they had 4 cats & 2 dogs......way too many animals in one home), cleaning some more and then moving in.  The next few posts will be house related as this is quite the process.

  3. The place has undergone quite the transformation since I saw it just 1 week ago -- gone from great bones, but dirt and yuk to beautiful. Can't wait to see your furnishings in it to on top of the new carpet.

    Love ya all,
