Feeding the Ducks - Picnic with Friends

During spring break last month, we met with friends at the park to feed the ducks and have a picnic.  It was a beautiful day!  We even saw baby geese.  We had quite the variety of ages and all had fun.

Memorial of Jesus Death 2014

April 14, 2014 was the Memorial this year.  We are so grateful for the sacrifice Jesus Christ made so we ALL have the opportunity to live forever.  It was nice to consider as a family during the week prior to the Memorial, the Biblical account of what Jesus went through and what he commanded us to do annually.  Look forward to hearing how many around the world gathered that evening.  2013 was over 19 million, so more than that for sure.  189 attended ours at Hickory North.

Fresh Farm Eggs

The owner of Lazy P Ranch (where Sophia takes horse riding lessons) has other animals as well.  One being chickens!  We were excited when he said we could have a dozen or two eggs each time we are there since he has soooo many.  Since I have two scrambled eggs every morning, I jumped at that offer.  They taste GREAT!!!  And are free!

Here are a few pictures of the Ranch lately:

Abby loves the baby goats

And they want to eat her shirt!

Gizmo is Abby's fav

Abby's 3rd Field Trip This Year

It has been a fun-filled year for Abby's class.  They have 4 field trips scheduled this year.  This time it was to Dan Nicholas Park.  We did gem mining, learned about snakes & other animals from our area, had a picnic, took a little train ride & played at the park.  We broke up into smaller groups, thus the reason for not having the whole class in a picture.  I say it everytime, I am amazed by the teachers ability to manage all of these children on a daily basis, while teaching them.  Mrs. Lingle does a wonderful job with her 1st grade class!!!

Two Helpers

These two are GREAT helpers!!  Abby is the official van washer & Sophia really enjoys cutting the grass (so do I, we switch off).  We really appreciate their hard work!!

And Max, well he just likes to look cute and be a part of whatever is going on!!
