Veggies!!

OUR GARDEN IS PRODUCING VEGGIES!!

So this is our first year of planting a veggie garden without Keekie's help.  We are keeping it simple - tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, green bell peppers, basil, cilantro & zucchini.  It has been exciting for the girls to watch it grow (rapidly) and I'm hoping they will want to try some (they love zucchini already).

Camping Adventure

A couple weekends ago we camped with 3 other families at Lake Norman State Park (about 30 minutes from our house).  It has turned into our annual event (2nd year so far).  We had a great time, lots of laughs, tons of food, wonderful weather (warm days and cool evenings).  There were 8 kids in total and all got along wonderfully.  Pops & Grandma came for a day to enjoy the association w/o the hassle of "camping".  Days were filled with hikes, bike rides, beach fun; evenings were smores, charades & "say another number" game around the fire.  Other than the Chuck Wills Widow bird calling ALL NIGHT LONG for the first 2 nights, we slept pretty good.

New Puppy

Our friends got a new puppy!!  

Of course the girls (and me) are in love.  She is so sweet, Thea is her name.  She's a miniature italian greyhound.  We were cracking up because she would play, play, play and then all of a sudden curl up and fall asleep in someone's lap.  After a few minutes of sleeping, she would pop up and be ready to play again.

Max has enjoyed play dates with her as well!  He does well with her as long as they both are in the grass together.  She wants to play with him, but gets a little nervous.  As they get use to each other, I see that they will be good buddies.
