Picnic

It was so fun having a picnic in the park.....just us four.  The girls played on the playground, we ate our picnic and went for a bike ride.  Well, the girls biked, we walked.  It was warm out, but we made it!  It is such a nice paved path along the river.  We all enjoyed it so much, we will be doing this again.

Abby's Sleepover & Sophia's Baking

Zoe came for a sleepover.....these two get along GREAT!  While they played, Sophia & I were watching The Next Great Baker.  It made us start craving cupcakes.  So, the sweetie she is, Sophia made from scratch (no box I tell ya) cupcakes.  Then she used the tips from her cupcake making class last summer and frosted them.  They tasted soooo good!

After that, it was bike riding at the middle school.  Love using the big open parking lot in the summer!  The next morning we headed to the Statesville Waterpark.  8 other moms with their kids met us there.

It was a fun sleepover!!  Zoe is welcome anytime!

Random June Pics

Just a few random pictures from June.  Things I want to remember.....

Abby started riding Sophia's old bike.  She does
really well with it, even though a bit bigger
than her last. The middle school has nice sidewalks
so a favorite spot to ride for Ab.

Lazy afternoon reading her story for the day
from Learn From The Great Teacher

Max makes a good reading buddy!!

Some nights Sophia makes dinner.....this night
it was tacos.

Ab lost a tooth on top!

Horse Camp

June 16 - 20 was the first week of Horse Camp.

By attending this week (class 9:00am - 12:00pm), then the three other weeks of camp Sophia can be a counselor.  As we know, she loves anything to do with horses.  They learned lots, ie: cleaning out stalls, cleaning the horse, riding and more.

This week Asia & her friend Alyssa attended.  New experience for them both!  They enjoyed themselves.  A couple of the days after camp, Benicia & I took the kids to the splash pad and also swimming at Braim's.  The weather for the camp was HOT!  90's and humid.....even in the AM.

Conover Splash Pad

Since the weather has been in the 90's for weeks, we've been discovering new water places.  Can't believe we didn't check this out last year (it is about 2 miles from our house)!  The Conover Splash Pad is great - water, playgrounds, shade & sun.  And on the weekends the ice cream truck stops by.

Last Day of School 2014

Friday, June 13, 2014 was the last day of school!!!!

Abigail finished 1st grade & Sophia finished 6th grade.

Now we are enjoying SUMMER!!!!

End of Year Awards

Thursday, June 12, 2014 was the End of Year Awards for both of the girls schools.  Sophia's was in the morning and she was so excited that Daddy was able to attend as well.  It was nice to hear Sophia's name announced twice for awards.  Also, her homeroom teacher had such nice compliments to share with us about her.  Abby's awards were in the afternoon.  Daddy was able to work between the two award ceremonies.  Abby received a packet with awards, announced by her teacher and handed to her by the principal.

We are so proud of both of you girls!  You do your best and work hard for your good grades.  Keep it up!!

Abby wanted her hair wavy (braided the night before)
and to dress up for the awards

Abby is so tall!
