23rd Annual Placement of the Frog

The 23rd annual placement of the frog in Pops & Grandma's garden happened.  We missed Alexis & Hayley.......sniff, sniff.

Then of course, the girls have to get their Saurus fix.  Abby has warmed up to holding him.  Sophia LOVES him!

We finished the evening with a fabulous dinner outside & bonfire.

Landscapers

These girls are tough!  Always helpful with projects.  Landscaping some garden areas in the back.  First they helped unload Josh's van of rocks.  Then they helped edge the gardens.  I'm glad they aren't afraid of hard work!  Thank you girls - it looks GREAT!!!

Silly Mommy Bird

I guess the mommy bird was desperate to find a place for her nest.  We saw a bird flying in and out of the propane tank.  So, we lifted the blue top and discovered she built herself a nest.......right there.  Guess it worked, they have hatched!!!

Abby's 4th Field Trip - Letterland/Tweetsie

May 8th was the final field trip for Abby's class.  It was a great one!!  We headed into the mountains (an hour away) to Tweetsie.  We had never been there, so it was exciting.  Plus they sponsored the Letterland characters which they children used for phonics learning in K & 1st grade.  The kids were flipping since the characters signed autographs too!  There were shows as well featuring the characters as well.  Abby's favorite character is Peter Puppy.

We were split into smaller groups since it is a large area.  Myself and two other mom's stayed together with 6 kids between us.  Worked out well!  We went on rides, fed animals, had lunch, watched a show and of course, bought a souvenir.  It was a hot day and with all the walking, we were exhausted by the end.  I was so glad I could attend and experience it with Abby!

Horse Rides with Friends

A couple weeks ago, some families came to the stable where Sophia rides horses.  On Saturday afternoons, they offer rides for $5.  Nice opportunity to try it out.  The kids enjoyed visiting all the horses and the other animals too.  It was fun for Sophia to show them all around!!!

Another New Puppy Friend

Our friends got a new puppy to add to their family!  Making a total of 5!!!  They are the most well-behaved dogs I've ever seen.  The new little one is just learning of course.  Abby made a new friend in Zoe.  They are a lot alike - spunky and full of energy.  There is one named Sophie too!  The girls LOVED being able to play with them all.

Bedtime Routine

The bedtime routine these days is:

9:00pm brush teeth, put jammies on, prayer as a family and then Josh & Abby read a story together.  Sophia reads in her bed until 10:00pm.

Abby LOVES her reading time with Daddy!  I want to remember these little routines that happen daily, but will probably be forgotten as they grow older.  Oh yeah, Max, he has to be right in there too!

Lip Gloss

Auntie Kiki bought the girl's lip gloss.  Check out Abby's sporting hers.  I can't believe how grown up she looks in this picture!!!!  Wow!!!  Love the spunky, artistic, thoughtful, funny girl she is!!

Feeding the Ducks - Picnic with Friends

During spring break last month, we met with friends at the park to feed the ducks and have a picnic.  It was a beautiful day!  We even saw baby geese.  We had quite the variety of ages and all had fun.
