Random March Pictures

The month isn't yet over, but there are quite a few pictures already to post.  These are random, really random.  Check out what we've been up to:

Abby was sick with allergies/cold stuff earlier in the month.
One afternoon was spent creating a zoo with her
animals.

So proud of Sophia!  She had a talk a couple weeks ago.
She really wants to write her own talks and did most
this time.  I helped her tweek it and she did great!

Sharing the Good News brochure too!  Her zeal and
excitement at giving talks is really encouraging!

Enjoying all the horses

And the baby goats

Two momma's had baby goats - one boy and one girl
This baby is so shy!

Not this one though!  Loves the attention

Can't forget about the other goats too

Abby should live on a farm!  She just loves being
with all the animals.

This one loves the horses!!!!

Flowers!  The previous owner plants bulbs I guess.
We get to enjoy!

Climbing our front tree

BONFIRE!  First one of the season

Theo is visiting with Sebastian.....the girls
can't get enough!

Cousins!!!!  Sebastian is 14 and such a nice young
man!  Smart too....we played Brain Quest and he
knew all the answers!

For Dr. Seuss week, Abby's teacher created these cute
hot air balloons for each child.  The kids wrote
the basket portion.

Here is Abby's!  She wants to be an author.

China and Aleah are in school with Sophia and in our
congregation.  They walk to our house daily and then
their dad picks them up, usually before they reach our house.
This day we arranged for them to do homework together!

Our tree is blooming!

Showing Sebastian around Lazy P Ranch!  Beautiful day!

Spring KH Clean-up & Bonfire w/Friends

Saturday afternoon was the KH Spring Clean-up.  It was a beautiful spring day - 70 degrees & sunny.  There was lots to do and many hands to help.  Abby enjoyed using the screwdriver with Dad.  Sophia did quite a few projects - scrubbing scuffs off the stairs to the basement with Callie, raking outside & mopping the basement floor with Lindsey.

Then we went to Castenada's for a grill out and bonfire. It was a great day!!

Sophia's Award

We were excited to hear Sophia would be receiving the NC Pride award......the Gold card at that.  Last Wednesday was the award ceremony and reception following.

She is such an outstanding student and we are so proud of her!  In order to receive the award, the student need to excel in three categories: Attitude, Attendance & Academics.  Here is the information from the school website about the program.

The NCMS PRIDE (Promoting Recognition for Individual Dedication to Excellence) program rewards students for outstanding performance in academics, attendance, and attitude. Students qualilfy for PRIDE by maintaining high academic averages or improving past averages, attending school regularly and arriving for school on time, and avoiding disciplinary referrals to the office. Rewards and incentives for PRIDE students are provided throughout the semester and include early dismissal from school, free and/or reduced admissions to school athletic events, cookouts, ice cream parties, coupons from local businesses, t-shirts and other prizes.

In order to qualify for P.R.I.D.E. students will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Academics
Gold Card: semester average of 93 or above
Silver Card: semester average of 85 or above

For all students who meet the above standards, P.R.I.D.E. cards will be rewarded along with the privileges/prizes granted for the recipients.

The card stays with the student's through high school, as long as they maintain the above requirements.  Great way to reward kids for their hard work!!!

The Best Dog

A few weeks ago Abigail was sick and Max was so sweet!  He just knows when someone doesn't feel good and wants to cuddle right up.  We really have the best dog!!  He does cuddle with Sophia too, I just don't happen to have a picture.  Can you tell who poses for me best - Abigail :)

Cuddling with sickie in the family room - taking

Max was in the other room with me, Abby fell
asleep in the living room and next thing I looked,
Max jumped right up to keep watch over her.

Circuit Assembly 2014

Last weekend was our circuit assembly.  It was the last 2 day assembly.  Wonder if our kids will ever remember 2 day assemblies?  Thus the reason I document it......so they will remember :)

It is a treat meeting at an assembly hall.  We love it!  The weather was beautiful as well which allowed lunch outside or just a nice walk outside after eating.
