Baker in the House

This girl loves to bake, just like I did.  Recently she made peanut butter cookies w/kisses.  They were amazing!  Then for our anniversary, she made a pumpkin pie.  The crust was already made, but the rest she did from scratch.  It tasted so yummy!!!  We all enjoyed it; Pops & Grandma raved about how fabulous it was.  Keep it up girlie!!

Our 16th Anniversary

Friday, November 23rd was our 16th anniversary!!!!  We like to make it our family anniversary; gifts for the girls as well.  They were so excited with their presents, even the Silly Putty (loved that when I was young).  Pops & Grandma came over for dessert & a gift from the Courteau family.

Josh had arranged a hotel stay & dinner @ Ruth's Chris Steak House for us two.  It was lovely!  Nice to talk, shop, relax and eat.......just us.  The girls enjoyed a sleepover @ Pops & Grandma's.  When we check-in to our hotel room, we were surprised with chocolate covered strawberries & champagne (what a special treat......just mentioned it was our anniversary when we made the reservation).  Then at Ruth's Chris, they escorted us to a special area ~ the wine room ~ just for us two.  It was so cool and special!!!  The food was amazing!!  For sure a once a year (or so) kind of place.

I was so excited with my present........a new Nikon camera!  Our "old" digital camera was from 2007 and served us well.  I look forward to using my NEW camera and figuring out all the bells & whistles.

Thank you all for remembering our special day!

Love you Joshie!!!!

Remembering Dan

Josh's father, Daniel, was a quiet, kind, hard-working man.  He showed great love to his family and worked multiple jobs at once to provide for them......9 children & his wife.  He set a wonderful example for his 7 sons.

Sadly, I didn't get to know him very well.  He passed away November 22, 2004.  Joshua has shared many stories with me and even does now with Sophia & Abigail, to let us know what his dad was like.  Josh and his Dad have the same middle name......pretty special when you are one of seven boys.

Until the paradise when we will get the opportunity to hug him and truly get to know him, we rely on memories.  Tears of joy will then be flowing!!

(We didn't get a digital camera until 2007, so I had to rely on finding pictures in old photo albums......so glad to have digital now.  Excuse the scanned in quality.)

WELCOME!

Thanks for following us to our new blog!

We are enjoying the beautiful weather in NC.  It is hard to believe it is November; feels more like September weather wise.  I'll take it!  We've been busy with company coming to visit and we are happy to report that it won't be ending anytime soon.  3 more visits are planned from MN ~ 2 in December & 1 in January.  We love to be surrounded by our family and are glad they are able to make the treks from MN all the way to see us.
